Daily HS Announcements - Monday, October 16, 2017

Prayer:  Father, you love the poor and the weak.  Teach us to trust you to give us what we need to do your work.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  AMEN.

1.  School will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. today and Wednesday for Parent-Teacher Conferences.  Conferences will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. both days in Burns Gym.

2.  Congratulations to the football team on their win over Wayne on Friday night.  Also, a big congratulations to Coach Bellar on receiving his 344 win making him the winningest football coach in the State of Nebraska!!!

3.  Congratulations to the 7th grade volleyball team on taking 1st place at the Norfolk Junior High Tournament on Saturday.  Also, congratulations to the 8th grade team on finishing in 3rd place.

4.  Congratulations to the freshmen volleyball team on being champions of the Neligh-Oakdale Tournament on Saturday.

5.  The freshmen volleyball team will play at Norfolk Public at 5:00 p.m. today.  All freshmen should be at Norfolk Public by 4:30 p.m.

6.  The following colleges will have representatives coming to visit with interested seniors:
--Tuesday, October 17th:  University of Nebraska Lincoln at 1:00 p.m.
--Thursday, October 19th:  Briar Cliff University at 10:45 a.m.

7.  Order forms for state cross-country shirts will be available in the office later today.  All order forms and money must be turned back into the office by the end of the day tomorrow (Tuesday).

8.  School picture retake order forms must be turned into the office by the end of the day today!

9.  There will be a meeting today right after school for any 7th & 8th grade students interested in weightlifting.

10. If you attended any varsity extra curricular events last week, please sign the log book in Mr. Fisher’s classroom for House Points.

11. The following students owe library fines that need to be paid immediately:  Preston Bamsey ($1.00), Hannah Matteo-Hupp (90 cents), Cody Sullivan (50 cents), Kanyon Talton (50 cents), Brock West (60 cents), Dalton Brunsing ($1.00), Brennen Kelley (50 cents), Karlie Clinch (50 cents), Kylee Stech ($1.00), Mary Fennessy (50 cents), Hailey Blank ($1.00).

12. The next Health Careers Club meeting is on Wednesday, October 18th from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Faith Regional Health Services, west campus, in the Nebraska room.  This month’s topic is Licensed Mental Health Professionals.

13. There will be a parent meeting this Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria for all Jr.
High wrestling parents.

14. Since there is no school this Friday, those families who drop their tuition payments off at school, must get them to the school by Thursday.

15. We are expecting 100% parent participation in SPIRIT this year which is coming up on Saturday, October 21st.  If you aren’t attending, we ask that you help in some way.  As an added incentive, every school family who attends OR HELPS the NIGHT OF THE EVENT will be put into a drawing
for:
1st Prize  -  $500 towards your 2018-19 tuition
2nd Prize  -  $100 towards your child’s lunch account
3rd Prize  -  $100 towards your child’s lunch account
4th Prize  -  FREE JEANS DAY for your child’s class

Daily HS Announcements - Friday, October 13, 2017

1.  Congratulations to the boys cross-country team on being district champions yesterday and qualifying for the state cross-country meet.  Team members include:  Rylan Rasmussen-3rd, Elliot Eisenmenger-8th, Wyatt Ash-9th, Travis Kalous-21st, Will Abler-43rd, Cameron Klug-55th.  Also, congratulations to Audrey Stelling & Molly Burroughs on qualifying for the state meet.  Audrey finished 10th and Molly placed 15th.  State cross-country will take place on Friday, October 20th in Kearney.

2.  Results from the J.V. & varsity volleyball triangular last night:
--J.V. - NC lost to O’Neill,  NC freshmen defeated Neligh-Oakdale
--Varsity - NC lost to O’Neill, NC defeated Neligh-Oakdale

3.  Football at Wayne tonight starting at 7:00.

4.  Jr. High volleyball at the Norfolk Public Invite on Saturday.  All players should meet at the Norfolk Junior High at 12:00 noon tomorrow.

5.  Freshmen volleyball at the Neligh-Oakdale Tournament on Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m.

6.  There will be a high school Fall vocal music concert on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the activities center.

13. Wayne High School would like to invite Norfolk Catholic fans to a tailgate party at the WSC football field tonight from 5:45 p.m. until kick-off.
