4.  A representative from Midland University will be here on Monday, February 26th at 9:45 a.m. in the counseling office to visit with interested Juniors and Seniors.

5.  The local optimist club is hosting a Speech Contest on March 18th.  Any 7-12th grade student who is 18 years of age or younger is eligible to participate.  Winners of this contest will be able to compete for $2,500 scholarships at the district meet.  Students should find Mrs. Knutson if you would like more information.

6.  Any sophomore interested in attending the HOBY Leadership Conference this summer should see Mrs. Knutson ASAP for an application.  Applications are due by March 1st.

7.  The next Health Careers Club meeting will be held tonight from 7:00 - 8:30 at Faith Regional Health Services in the Nebraska Room.  This month’s topic is Medication Stockpiling/Dispensing in a public health training scenario.

8.  There will be a meeting right after school today in Mr. Fisher’s room for any girls, grades 8-11, interested in going out for volleyball next year.

9.  There will be quiz bowl practice this Thursday in Mr. Sok’s room.  Jr. High will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by high school at 6:30 p.m.

2.  Congratulations to the NC wrestlers on placing 6th out of 16 teams at the district tournament.  Individual places and state qualifiers include:  Wyatt Smydra 126 - 3rd place,  Francisco Mendez 132 - 2nd place,  Arik Seymour 138 - 1st place.  State wrestling will take place this Thursday, Friday & Saturday in Omaha.  NC will begin wrestling on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
