1.  Congratulations to the wrestling team on defeating Wayne last night 54-24.  Winners were:  Nathan Wetjen, Mason Bykerk, Arik Seymour, Jacob Craven, Diego Ojeda, Ryan Webbert, Brendan Bachman, Ashtin Arens, Joey Otero.

2.  The J.V. & varsity boys & girls basketball teams were all defeated by Bishop Neumann last night.

3.  Jr. High girls basketball at the David City Aquinas tournament tomorrow starting at 8:00 a.m.

4.  The NC freshmen girls and boys basketball tournament will take place tomorrow.  The girls will play their first game against Lutheran High NE at 9:00 a.m. in the activities center.  The boys will play their first game also against Lutheran High NE at 10:15 a.m. in the activities center.  Consolation and championship games will follow.

5.  Wrestling at Stanton on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m.

6.  J.V. & varsity boys basketball at Battle Creek on Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m.

7.  All families will meet at 3:00 p.m. today to go over details regarding your Advent Angel project.  The schedule for the afternoon will be as follows:

Norfolk High School has opportunities for our 9th - 11th grade students to apply for their Career Academies.  The different academies include:  Agriculture (Plant and/or Animal Pathways), Automotive, Construction, Drafting, Metals, Health Science, Early Childhood Development, Culinary, Business Administration (Law Management and/or Entrepreneurship Pathways), Marketing (Marketing and/or Hospitality & Tourism Pathways), Finance and Informational Technology.  If interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Mrs. Knudson.

17. The Norfolk Key Club is asking for donations for the Connected Youth Christmas Party.  They are
asking for hygiene items (hair items, body wash, razors, shaving cream, etc.), towels, blankets/pillows, flat sheets, and free will donations.  Checks can be made to the Norfolk Key Club.  A box will be placed outside the school office from now until December 15th.

18. FBLA is doing a Coin War with all proceeds going to Make A Wish Nebraska.  Each class has their own coin jar in the office.  Any coin is added and any dollar bill amount is subtracted.  Classes can put dollars into other class jars to lower their amount.  The winning class gets a Sweats Day!!!  This will run from today through December 13th.

19. The Norfolk Catholic Hall of Fame Board of Directors is gearing up for our 4th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  We are currently seeking nominations for deserving individuals in the following categories:

2.  The varsity girls and boys basketball teams both lost to Grand Island C.C. on Saturday.

3.  Congratulations to the wrestling team on tying for 3rd place out of 12 teams at the O’Neill Invite on Saturday.  Individual medalists were:  Jaden Bykerk - 3rd (120 lbs), Wyatt Smydra - 2nd (132 lbs), Francisco Mendez - 3rd (138 lbs), Arik Seymour - 3rd (145 lbs), Ryan Webbert - 1st (182 lbs).

4.  Jr. High girls basketball at home today vs. Hartington C.C. starting at 6:15 p.m.

5.  Jr. High wrestling triangular with Boone Central & Plainview at Albion tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.  The meet was originally scheduled to take place in Petersburg, but it will be held in Albion.

6.  Freshmen girls & boys basketball at Battle Creek tonight.  The girls will play at 6:15 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

7.  The House of Aquinas won Favorite Cereal Friday with 25 boxes of cereal.  Overall food totals were:

14. Reminder - Mrs. Hahn’s homeroom is asked to bring $10.00 for their advent angel and layette set.  Please take care of this by the end of the day today.

16. The next Health Careers Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Norfolk Fire Division Training Tower classroom (300 E. Benjamin Ave.).  This month’s topic is the SIM lab - simulated emergency room and ambulance.

17. There will be a high school boys soccer meeting, for anyone not in a winter sport, next Tuesday, December 5th right after school in Mr. Miller’s room.

18. The House of Drexel won Fruit/Veggie day with 157 cans.  Aquinas was second with 113, Gregory was 3rd with 101, and Xavier was 4th with 61.  Favorite Cereal Friday will be counted during 7th period today.  The current number of items brought in so far are:
-Gregory - 524
-Aquinas - 510
-Drexel - 459
-Xavier - 332

19. St. Francis of Xavier’s Feast Day is this Sunday.  We will acknowledge this next Tuesday by allowing all House of Xavier members to wear their house shirts with dress code pants and all students will attend a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. in Burns gym.

20. The Norfolk Key Club is asking for donations for the Connected Youth Christmas Party.  They are
asking for hygiene items (hair items, body wash, razors, shaving cream, etc.), towels, blankets/pillows, flat sheets, and free will donations.  Checks can be made to the Norfolk Key Club.  A box will be placed outside the school office from now until December 15th.

21. The Norfolk Catholic Hall of Fame Board of Directors is gearing up for our 4th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  We are currently seeking nominations for deserving individuals in the following categories:
-Athlete
-Team - Sports or One-Act/Speech
-Outstanding Alumnus
-Coach/Teacher/Employee
-Volunteer/Contributor/Supporter
Nominations can be submitted any time during the year, however to be considered for the 2018 Hall
