Daily HS Announcements - Thursday, November 15, 2018

Prayer:  Lord Jesus Christ, you are the Wisdom of the Father, offered to all people as friend, brother, and Savior.  Please walk beside us and enter our lives through the power of the Eucharist, so that we may be truly wise. We make this prayer in your name, our Lord and our God.  AMEN.

1.  Congratulations to the following students on being named “Students of the Month” for October:
--7th grade  - Nolan Fennessy

2.  Jr. High wrestling at Plainview today starting at 3:30 p.m.  Wrestlers will be dismissed after 7th period.

3.  Jr. High girls basketball at home tonight vs. O’Neill starting at 6:15 p.m.

4.  Congratulations to the one-act team for their performance at the conference competition on Tuesday!  The team really showed up and performed well! Special recognition goes to David McCaffrey who received a best actor medal, Savannah Vervynck who received a best actress medal, Sienna Sohler who was awarded best supporting actress, and Ben Bugenhagen who was awarded best supporting actor.
   
5.  Sophomores - here is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills and/or gain new skills and inspiration to lead change.  The Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar will be held May 31st - June 2nd, 2019 for students wanting to make a difference in their own lives, schools and communities.  It will be held on Concordia University’s campus in Seward, NE. There will be one sophomore selected with up to two additional alternates. See Mrs. Wieser to pick up an application ASAP.  All applications should be turned back in to Mrs. Wieser by November 19th.

6.  The Jr. High girls basketball game at home on Monday, November 19th with Boone Central will now start at 5:00 p.m. instead of 6:15 p.m.

7.  Anyone wishing to order shirts for this years one-act should pick up an order form from Mrs. Koopman.  All orders are due by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 19th.
 
8.  Reminder to seniors and their parents that baby pictures are due to the yearbook staff by December 17th.  Seniors pictures are due to the yearbook staff by January 14, 2019.

9.  Individual confessions will be held today during study halls.  Students in Mr. Zoucha’s study hall can go to the discipleship room during 4th period.  Students in Mrs. Headley’s, Mr. Kassmeier’s and Mrs. Koopman’s study halls may go there during 5th period.

3.  There will be NO Jr. High lifting today after school due to the teacher inservice.

4.  The November Health Careers Club meeting will be held tonight from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Northeast Community College in the Arlo Wirth building (look for AHEC signs).  You will be learning about EMT/Paramedic practicing skills in the EMT/Paramedic Lab and learning more about the profession from a former member of the LifeNet helicopter team.  For more information, check the Northern Nebraska AHEC facebook page.

1.  School will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow due to a teacher in-service.

2.  Conference One-Act is taking place today at Norfolk Senior High School.

3.  Results of the Jr. High wrestling triangular with Howell-Dodge & Pierce last night:  
Ethan Reardon 1-0,  Leo Ojeda 1-0, Kohlson Classen 2-0,  Kanyon Talton 3-1, Brandon Kollars 2-0,  Hudson Waldow 1-0, Alec Foecking 1-1. NC went 11-10 as a team with 6 pins!

1.  Congratulations to the football team on their win over Sutton on Friday night!  The Knights will now play Centennial in the state championship game on Tuesday, November 20th at 10:15 a.m. at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.

2.  Jr. High wrestling triangular vs. Howells-Dodge & Pierce at Howells tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.

3.  Juniors - ASVAB testing will be tomorrow starting at 8:25 a.m.  Please go to your 1st period class for attendance and lunch count , then go to the cafeteria.

Prayer:  God, our loving Father, in your church we gather to stand in your presence and serve you.  Make us always worthy for this holy and awesome task. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  AMEN.

1.  Football at Sutton tonight starting at 7:00 p.m.  The football team will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. Good Luck Knights!!!

2.  We will be having a Veteran’s Day Program on Monday starting at 8:15 a.m.  All students need to report to 1st period class at 8:05 a.m. on Monday for attendance and lunch count before going over to the activities center for the program.  Students will need to report to 1st period 5 minutes earlier than normal on Monday as the program must get started on time.  Thank you!

7.  Seniors who sold hams and turkeys need to pick them up at Lou’s Thrifty Way this Saturday (tomorrow) between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

9.  The one-act team is looking for a few props to gently use:  multiple vintage suitcases/bags, a 1940’s era movie projector (does not need to work), a violin (does not need to work), a vintage phone (like a rotary phone).  If anyone has something they can use, please talk to Mrs. Koopman ASAP.
