And His gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipment of the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

We have each been given specific gifts  by the Holy Spirit, and through our baptism,  invited to the Body of Christ where we are called to share those gifts in various ways.   Specifically, some are called to leadership roles within the parish or our larger family of parishes.    In these roles, it is vital that we are committed to the mission of the Catholic Church and the vision for our diocese to be One Church: Encountering Jesus, Equipping Disciples, and Living Mercy.    If you feel called to serve in a leadership role, we encourage you to visit with one of our priests or parish staff  to prayerfully discern where your gifts are most suited.

The following leadership advisory councils provide support  to our Pastor and Parochial Vicars for the Heart of Jesus Family of Parishes.

Family of Parishes Pastoral Council Our family of parishes pastoral council is comprised of 3 members from each parish, invited by the Pastor, to provide a representative view across demographics that can aid in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the family of parishes. This council meets monthly as a group to grow in prayer, grow in our understanding of the mission and vision of the Church, and discern opportunities within our family of parishes to carry that out.
Family of Parishes Leadership Team  A small group of key leaders who help the pastor advance the vision for our family of parishes, consider key issues, and share the implementation of strategic initiatives.   The members of this team are invited by the Pastor and meet weekly.
Local Parish Leadership Councils Parish members are invited by the Pastor to serve for a specified term at the local parish level.  These councils help advise the Pastor in matters related to local finances, building and grounds, parish fundraisers, religious education, and other matters that affect the specific parish.
