Advent small group studies are now available.

The evangelization and discipleship team for the Heart of Jesus Family of Parishes has two prayer plan options available for individuals and small groups who would like to encounter Jesus personally and prepare their hearts for His nativity during the 2026 Advent season.

The first is a collection of the Sunday gospels read during this Advent season. The collection is accompanied by instructions for Lectio Divina, a personal conversation with the Lord through scripture. This plan can be done on an individual basis or in a small-group setting.

The second option also includes the Sunday gospels throughout Advent, but it also utilizes scenes from The Chosen TV series as a means by which participants can put greater focus on themes such a vigilance and spiritual readiness; repentance; joyful witness and mission; and trust and radical obedience.

The season of Advent begins on Sunday, Nov. 29.

If you’re interest in adopting either of these as a prayer plan or small-group plan throughout the Advent season, please contact Kathryn or Ellen at the Sacred Heart Parish Office, 402-371-2621.
